Lately we’ve been talking about what it really means to follow Jesus, and here’s the heart of it: faith isn’t a spectator sport. St. Paul basically tells the Thessalonians, “Don’t sit around waiting—get involved!” And that message still hits home today.
Our Camino process at the parish proves it. David showed up unsure if he even believed, but by walking with others, he slowly realized he had already met Jesus. Anna had never prayed before, yet one simple moment of people gathering around her in prayer changed everything. These aren’t classroom moments—they’re real encounters.
Paul practiced what he preached. He worked, served, and showed people what discipleship looks like in action. And he invites us to do the same.
So how do we shift from “consumer” mode to “contributor” mode?
- Own your mission. You’re not just a churchgoer—you’re part of God’s team.
- Walk with someone. One simple invitation or conversation can open a door.
- Get involved. Join a ministry, mentor someone, or just show up with a willing heart.
The Church grows when everyday people step up and help others meet Jesus. When we serve, we don’t just change others—we change too.
