We are talking about the move ELEMENTAL.

Questions After the Video:‍

  • Are you naturally more like Ember (quick to react, guarded, passionate) or Wade (wear your heart on your sleeve, emotional, easygoing)?
  • What is one rule you grew up believing (like "fire and water don't mix") that you later discovered wasn't quite true?
  • In the movie, everyone said Fire and Water could never touch. How does Jesus break the mold of who we are "supposed" to love or associate with?
  • Read John15:3
    • "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."
  • Wade was willing to evaporate to keep Ember safe. Look at John 15:13. How does Wade’s sacrifice point us to what Jesus did on the cross?
  • Ember’s anger wasn't just a bad attitude—it was a signal that she was ignoring her real feelings and carrying too much pressure. When do you find yourself feeling like you might "explode"? What are those feelings trying to tell you?
  • Ember felt like pursuing her own passion would let her parents down. Have you ever felt pressure to meet someone else's expectations instead of being honest about who God made you to be?

We are talking about the movie "Heaven is for Real"

Questions After the Video:

  • When you hear stories about near-death experiences or people seeing Heaven, what is your initial gut reaction: genuine belief, total skepticism, or cautious curiosity? Why?
  • Todd is a pastor, yet he struggled the most to accept Colton’s experience. Why is it sometimes easier to talk about God theoretically or culturally than to genuinely believe in the supernatural reality of God?
  • Read Matthew 18:2-3
    • "He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.'"
  • In Matthew 18, Jesus says we have to "become like little children" to enter the kingdom of God. What does a 4-year-old have that teenagers and adults often lose when it comes to trust and openness?
  • In his sermon, Todd asks: "If heaven is for real, we'd all lead different lives, wouldn't we?" If you genuinely lived every day knowing that this physical life is just a brief doorway to eternity, what is one priority, worry, or friendship that would look radically different right now?
  • Have you ever felt that having doubts makes you a "bad Christian"? How does seeing Todd’s honest wrestling give us permission to bring our genuine questions to God?
