This week we are talking about truth.

____________________________________________________________________

  • What’s the hardest part about talking to someone you don’t agree with?
  • What’s the best piece of advice you can give someone to help them find common ground with someone they often disagree with?
  • Read Ephesians 4:14-15
    • We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by people’s trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming.  But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,
  • When you see something that’s unjust or unfair, you should speak out. What’s something you want to speak out about? How can you speak out about that thing from a place of God’s love instead of a place of human anger or even prideful self-righteousness?
  • Think about someone in your life that you often disagree with (but, to be as respectful as possible, keep their name to yourself).

Sacraments: Virtues

  • Can you share a personal experience where you witnessed someone’s selfless efforts to support another person, and how it changed or inspired you?
  • How does coming to another person’s aid change us?
  • In your opinion, what qualities or virtues are necessary for individuals to make such significant personal transformations for the well-being of others?
  • How have you experienced personal growth through acts of kindness or sacrifice for others?
  • How might learning to live out radical hospitality, as a family or an individual, change a person or a family?
  • How does the concept of the Trinity, as discussed in the script, impact your understanding of God’s nature and the importance of relationships in your life?
  • How do you navigate the balance between feelings and intentional actions in your relationships with God and others?
  • How can we grow in virtues like prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance in your daily life?
  • Can you share a personal experience where you felt a noticeable change in your ability to choose the good, and how did it impact your relationship with God?

This week we are talking about Virtue in unity with Sacrament prep

  • In Matthew 25, Jesus talks about “the least” and says that the way we treat them is the way we treat him. Who are some of the least among us today? The least include the unborn, the elderly, the poor, and those who are bullied.
  • How can you help those who are vulnerable? Do you think you can make a difference? Why or why not?
  • To share our Faith, we need to understand and continue to grow in it. How have you grown during IgNation?
  • Are you comfortable talking about your faith with your friends? How about with people you do not know well? Why or why not?
Why do you think talking about faith and religion sometimes feels awkward or uncomfortable?
What are some things you can do to make it easier to talk about your faith? You can pray first, tell your personal story, avoid debates, be joyful, and be patient.
  • How can you be like Christ in your world ? In your family? At school? On your team or in your club? In your relationships?
  • Chris talked about getting out of our comfort zones. What does he mean, and how can we do that?
  • How can “being needy” actually lead to us finding strength and courage? How do you think Christ felt when he stood in front of Pilate? How can that help inspire us?
  • How do you feel about the idea that your words and actions can actually change the world ? How does Confirmation empower us to build the kingdom of God ?

Weekly Challenge

Every week, group members accept a personal challenge to apply what was discussed to their day-to-day lives.

This week:

What is one specific way you can show love to someone this week? Where could you find common ground with them.

Parents – Ask your kids about this challenge during dinner time and ask if they did it.
