From this week and the rest of the Second Trimester we will have personal testimonies linked to a topic. This week we are talking about how to have a relationship with God.

Testimony given by Rachel Griffin

  • What’s something that's blocking or distracting you from deepening your relationship with God?
  • Is it hard for you to imagine God as a kind of best friend?
  • What do you do when you don’t FEEL like God is close?
  • What’s something you could change to help your relationship with God?
  • How do you usually talk (or listen) to God — and when do you find it easiest to do so?
  • What do you think God desires most from a relationship with you?

Weekly Challenge

Challenge:

Every week, group members accept a personal challenge to apply what was discussed to their day-to-day lives.

This week:

Say one short, honest prayer to God (like talking to a friend).

Thank God for one good thing each day.

Before bed, tell God how your day really went.

Share with your Small Group Leader how it went, and how you listened to His answer.

A reminder from last week:

Pay extra attention during Mass when the Eucharist is lifted.

Say a short prayer to Jesus after Communion (even just: “Jesus, thank you for being here.”)

Draw or write one sentence about what you think Jesus feels when He is with us in the Eucharist.

Be extra kind to someone this week because Jesus lives in you after Communion.

Parents – Ask your kids about this challenge during dinner time and ask if they did it.
