From this week and the rest of the Second Trimester we will have personal testimonies linked to a topic. This week we are talking about Identity.

____________________________________________________________________

  • When someone asks, “Who are you?”, what do you usually say?
  • What are some labels people use for themselves? (student, athlete, funny, shy…)
  • What do you think it means that you are a child of God?
  • How does it make you feel to know God made you and loves you?
  • Do you think God loves you only when you are good, or all the time? Why?
  • How should we treat other people if they are also children of God?
  • What is one way you can remember this week that you belong to God?

From this week and the rest of the Second Trimester we will have personal testimonies linked to a topic. This week we are talking about Identity.

____________________________________________________________________

  • What are some things people your age use to define themselves? (grades, looks, sports, popularity, social media…)
  • What happens when we build our identity only on those things?
  • What does it truly mean to be a son or daughter of God — not just in theory, but personally?
  • What voices in the world try to tell you who you are or what you’re worth?
  • When do you find it hardest to believe you are loved by God?
  • How would your choices change if you truly lived as someone who belongs to God?
  • What fears or pressures lose power when we remember we are children of God?

Weekly Challenge

Every week, group members accept a personal challenge to apply what was discussed to their day-to-day lives.

This week:

Each morning say: “God, thank You for making me Your child.”
When you feel sad or left out, remind yourself: “I belong to God.”
Show kindness to someone because they are also a child of God.
Come ready to share one thought about what it felt like to remember that you are a child of God this week.

A reminder from last week:

When you feel worried, say: “Jesus, I trust You with this.”
Draw or write a prayer about something you’re scared or unsure about, and pray for it every day.
Ask a parent or leader to pray with you about it

Parents – Ask your kids about this challenge during dinner time and ask if they did it.

This week:

When you feel insecure or pressured this week, pause and pray:
“God, remind me who I am in You.”
Bring a short reflection (a few sentences) about what you noticed this week when you tried to live from your identity as a child of God.
What was hard? What changed? What did you learn?
