From this week and the rest of the Second Trimester we will have personal testimonies linked to a topic. This week we are talking about returning to God.

  • What part of the testimony did you remember the most?
  • How did the story make you feel?
  • What does it mean to “come back” to God?
  • Do you think God gets angry when we walk away? Why or why not?
  • What does it mean to trust someone?
  • Is it easy or hard to trust God when something is scary?
  • What do you think peace feels like?
  • When do you feel most calm or safe?
  • What helps you feel close to God again after you make a mistake

Weekly Challenge

Challenge:

Every week, group members accept a personal challenge to apply what was discussed to their day-to-day lives.

This week:

Say “God, I’m sorry” for something small and talk to Him about it.
Pray one honest sentence each day.
Thank God for always loving you.
Share a writing or drawing of one moment when you felt closer to God this week.

A reminder from last week:

Help at home without being asked.
Do one kind act for a sibling or classmate.
Share something you like with someone else.
Write and share one way you served someone and how it felt.

Parents – Ask your kids about this challenge during dinner time and ask if they did it.

Challenge:

Every week, group members accept a personal challenge to apply what was discussed to their day-to-day lives.

This week:

Spend 5 quiet minutes telling God honestly where you’ve felt distant.
Go to Confession if possible this week.
Give one worry to God every day and say: “I trust You with this.”
Bring a short reflection: What step did you take? Was it uncomfortable?
Did you notice any peace?

A reminder from last week:

Do one act of service that no one knows about.
Help someone who cannot “pay you back.”
Give your time (not just things) to someone who needs attention.
Write and share one way you served someone and how it felt.
