From this week and the rest of the Second Trimester we will have personal testimonies linked to a topic. This week we are talking about forgiveness.

Testimony given by Fr. Tim Silver

  • What part of the testimony stood out to you the most?
  • When do you usually pray?
  • What do you think prayer really is?
  • Do you think God listens every time we pray? Why?
  • Is it okay to tell God when you're mad, sad, or confused?
  • When do you feel closest to God?
  • What makes it hard to pray sometimes?
  • If prayer is like talking to a friend, what would you say to God today?

Testimony given by Fr. Tim Silver

  • What part of the testimony impacted you most and why?
  • Did anything challenge how you think about prayer?
  • Do you see prayer more as a duty, a habit, or a relationship?
  • Why do we sometimes stop praying when life gets busy or hard?
  • What’s the difference between praying only when we need something and praying to build a relationship?
  • Have you ever felt like God was silent? What did you do?
  • What fears or distractions keep people from praying consistently?
  • If you wanted your prayer life to grow, what would need to change?

Weekly Challenge

Every week, group members accept a personal challenge to apply what was discussed to their day-to-day lives.

This week:

Spend 2 quiet minutes talking to Jesus like a friend.
Come ready to share one sentence about what it felt like to pray this week and what Jesus told you. Something changed?

A reminder from last week:

When you feel worried, say: “Jesus, I trust You with this.”
Draw or write a prayer about something you’re scared or unsure about, and pray for it every day.
Ask a parent or leader to pray with you about it

Parents – Ask your kids about this challenge during dinner time and ask if they did it.

This week:

Put your phone away for 5 minutes and sit in silence with God.
Bring a short reflection:
What changed (if anything)?
What was hardest?
Did you notice God differently?
