This week we are talking about Grace3

Questions:

  • How can you show grace to your friends when they hurt your feelings?
  • Read:

Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you

can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is

not a reward for the good things we have done, so none

of us can boast about it.

  • Who makes it challenging for you to show grace to them?
  • Why do you think it’s especially hard for you to be gracious to this person?
  • What do you think it shows the world when Christians would rather keep a long list of grudges instead of forgiving one another?
  • Grace belongs to everyone. As you accept it for yourself, what ways can you share grace with people at your school, in your family, and in your neighborhood?

In Sacrament Prep:

We are talking about "What are the sacraments"

  • Before this video, where did you think the sacraments came from?
  • If the sacraments were instituted by Jesus Christ, what do you think this means for what Jesus intends for our relationship with Him?
  • Which of the sacraments were you the most surprised by the origin?
  • If the sacraments were part of God’s plan all along, how might we change our life to be more reliant on the sacraments?
  • In what ways can you relate to St. Thomas’ desire to see and touch Jesus himself?
  • Has there been a time you wished you could interact with God directly? What was that moment like?
  •  If the sacraments are the way God blesses us, what should our attitude toward the sacraments be, especially while we are receiving the sacraments?
  • Aristotle defined happiness as the fullest development of our highest power: our intellect and our will, or our ability to think and act. If sacraments unite us to God and make us temples of the Holy Spirit, how do the sacraments also make us “happy” or blessed?
  • Which sacraments stand out to you as harder to understand and why?
  • Which sacraments make the most sense to you and why?

This week we are talking about Healing

Questions:

  • Think of yourself as the beggar in the Chosen scene. If Jesus asks you what is something you want to be healed from
  • What is something that stood out to you from the video so far?
  • What is an area in your life where you know what you are doing is wrong, and you still do it?

In Sacrament Prep:

We are talking about "Sacraments"

Video 8.1: Gift of Grace.

  • How would you describe grace?
  • In the Opening Prayer, we read that Jesus came to seek and save the lost. What is it to really seek?
  • Why is it important that grace is a gift and not something we earn?
  • What does it mean to say that grace is the key to our inheritance?
  • How is grace connected to happiness?

Video 8.2: What is a Sacrament

  • What is important about the fact that it was Jesus who gave us the sacraments?
  • How do we benefit from the sacraments?
  • Why do you think Jesus entrusted the sacraments to the Church?
  • How do the sacraments help empower us to live and share our faith?

Video 8.3: What are the seven sacraments

  • What are some of the important times in our lives when we receive the sacraments?
  • Why do we receive different sacraments at different times in our lives?
  • Why do you think there are some sacraments that we can receive only once and others that we can receive many times?
  • What difference can the grace of the sacraments make in our lives? What would be different without them?
