This week we are talking about Grace2

Questions:

  • Why do we celebrate Easter?
  • Read:

John 14:19-20 NIV

“Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you

will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day

you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me,

and I am in you.”

  • Close your eyes and listen to this verse. What does it make you think about?
  • What stood out to you the most from today’s Loop Show? What’s one thing you learned or want to talk about?
  • What do you think it means to have the kind of “full life” that Jesus gives?
  • What do you think it was like for Jesus’ closest friends and followers when Jesus was crucified?
  •  What do you think it was like for Jesus’ closest friends and followers when, three days after He died, Jesus was alive again?
  • Who is one person you can invite to IgNation with you next week so they can have fun and learn how much God loves them with you?

In Sacrament Prep:

We are talking about "Who is Jesus?"

  • In your view, why did Jesus have such an impact on history?
  •  In what ways did Jesus’ life show us God’s love for us?
  • Jesus’ life showed us the relationship between Jesus and the Father, but what would that mean for our relationship with God the Father?
  • If you met Jesus today, what do you think your impression of him would be?
  • If Jesus is who he says he is, what does that mean for our identity as created by God?

This week we are talking about The Bible

Questions:

  • What do you think the purpose of the Bible is today?
  • Do you think the ideas in the Bible are old-fashioned or outdated?
  • Do you think the Bible is worth reading today? Why or why not?
  • Have you ever tried reading the Bible?
  • How did it go?
  • Do any quotes from the Bible stand out or have special meaning to you?
  • Have you ever heard somebody teach from the Bible and connect with it?
  • What are your biggest questions when it comes to the Bible?
  • How do you feel about the idea of God speaking to us through the Bible?
  • Jassie and Peter gave seven tips for reading the Bible (get a Bible, find a time and place, don’t flip and point, genre matters, ask lots of questions, pray, talk to people). Which of these, if any, stands out to you?
  • Why would governments not want the Bible in their country?

In Sacrament Prep:

We are talking about "Who is Jesus?"

Video 5.1: Who Do You Say That I Am?

  • What do you think most people, even non-Christians, like most about Jesus?
  • Are there ways that Jesus is still a controversial figure today?
  • Has your image of Jesus changed as you have gotten older?
  • What role does Jesus play in your life?
  • How would you respond to someone who asks you who Jesus is?

Video 5.2: Evidence for Jesus

  • Who are some heroes who were willing to die for others?
  • What would it take for you to die for someone?
  •  Would you be willing to die for someone who acted like your enemy?
  • How would you explain to someone that Jesus could not have been just a prophet or a wise man?

Video 5.3: Why Did Jesus Come to Us?

  • What makes Jesus different from other great leaders and teachers?
  • Explain why God became human and came to the world. Assume the person you are speaking to knows nothing about God or Jesus.
  • How can you learn more about Jesus’ life?
  • What are some ways we can respond to God’s love in our daily lives?
