Summary
“Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’”
Luke 22:19–20
The Mass is at the heart of our life as Christians. It’s where we gather as a community to worship God and encounter Jesus in a powerful way through the Eucharist. From the Last Supper to today, Jesus invites us to share in this meal and remember His sacrifice.
The Church calls the Eucharist the “Source and Summit” of our faith because our relationship with Jesus flows from it and is strengthened by it. At Mass, God fills us with His grace and sends us out to live our faith in the world.
Practice
Take an opportunity to read the Sunday mass readings before attending Sunday mass and reflect for 10 minutes on what resonated with you.
After mass, reflect on how this may have changed your experience
- Buckle up an extra seatbelt and talk to God on your commute
- Set up an extra table setting at the dinner table
- Put on headphones but leave them on silent.
